Petrol, Diesel Price – While the resurgence in coronavirus cases has put the crude oil prices in check, the weakening Indian Rupee (INR) could spoil the party, Expert Anuj Gupta, Vice President (VP), Commodity and Currency Research at IIFL Securities said. Rupee was trading at a 6-month low on Wednesday and that could impact the import bills for the country even if the rent Crude and WTI Crude oil prices remain stable in the international markets, he further said.
On Friday, the USD Dollar was trading strongly against the INR. The USDINR Futures were trading at 74.9500
Prices have remained stable as the global demand is still 40 per cent down from the pre covid levels, he said. The Brent Crude is trading around USD 63.24 while the WTI Crude is trading around USD 59.20. Though the outlook remains week, falling rupee could spoil the party, Gupta said.
