PAN-Aadhaar Linking: The customers from the State Bank of India (SBI) must be aware of the fact that they will not be able to avail certain services if they do not link their PAN card with Aadhaar. The SBI has recently tweeted reminding its customers regarding the PAN-Aadhaar linkage.

Last date

The individuals who have not yet linked their PAN with Aadhaar must note that the deadline for linking is March 31, 2022. Initially, the deadline was of March 31, 2021 but the deadline has been extended since then time and again for various reasons.

Services unavailable

If one's Aadhaar is not linked with PAN, the PAN will be rendered inactive. This means that the SBI customers will not be able to quote PAN numbers for conducting specified transactions. Hence, the SBI customers must link their 12-digit Aadhaar number with PAN in order to avoid any inconvenience.

Check if Aaddhar is linked with bank account

While linking the Aadhaar with PAN, an SBI account holder must ensure that the Aadhaar is linked with the bank account. To check if the Aadhaar is linked with the bank account, an SBI customer will have to follow some simple steps. They are as follows:

Step 1: One has to go to the official website of UIDAI at uidai.gov.in

Step 2: Now, click on 'Check Aadhaar/Bank Account Linking Status'’ in the 'My Aadhaar' tab.

Step 3: After that enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number

Step 4: Then one has to enter the security code and click on 'Send OTP'

Step 5: After this, one will get an OTP on the registered number through which one can log in

After logging in one can ensure whether the bank account is linked with the Aadhaar number or not.

How to link PAN with Aadhaar?

For linking Aadhaar with PAN, SBI customers will have to visit the new official website of Income Tax India at incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in. Now, an SBI customer will have to follow these simple steps in order to link the Aadhaar with PAN:

Step 1: One has to register on the new website, and one must remember that the PAN will be user ID.

Step 2: Now, login by entering the User ID, password and date of birth

Step 3: A pop-up window will appear. If the window does not appear, go to ‘Profile Settings’ on the Menu bar and click on ‘Link Aadhaar’

Step 4: Details such as name date of birth and gender will already be mentioned as per the PAN details

Step 5: Verify the PAN details on the screen with the ones mentioned on the Aadhaar.

Step 6: If the details match, enter the Aadhaar number and click on the “link now” button

Step 7: A message will pop up informing that your Aadhaar has been successfully linked to PAN
