One Profile for All Services: Modi government soon to create digital profile for every citizen

The government will soon create a digital profile for every citizen. From next year, for all government-related facilities, a single portal will be used.

It must be known that every citizen of the country will have a 'National Digital Profile'. One must also note that with one login, all the government facilities can be used with the 'National Digital Profile'. Furthermore, there will be one ID for every IDs that are being used.

At present, Aadhaar card, voter card, PAN card, passport and others are the government IDs that are being used by the citizens.

It has been felt that a lot more thrust is required to ensure e-Governance in the country to promote inclusive growth that covers electronic services, products, devices and job opportunities. Moreover, electronic manufacturing in the country needs to be strengthened.

In order to transform the entire ecosystem of public services through the use of information technology, the Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Digital India programme with the vision to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge economy.

It must be noted that in September this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. This mission will provide a digital health ID to the people who will hold their health records.

According to the official website of the National Health Authority, using a Health ID is the first step towards creating safer and efficient digital health records for a person and his or her family. One can opt-in to create a digitally secure Health ID, which allows the person to access and share the health data with his or her consent, with participating healthcare providers and payers.
