Mutual funds mobilise higher funds MoM in October; liquid funds top in terms of net inflow

Mutual Funds data October: The Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) released mutual fund data for October today (November 9). In the past month, the industry witnessed a net inflow of Rs 80,528.49 crore, with the highest net inflow mobilised in the small-cap fund category in the equity segment, while on an overall basis, liquid funds topped with a net inflow of Rs 32,963.8 crore. Investors' increasing buying interest in small-cap funds shows their optimism in the fund category.
In September, debt funds net logged an outflow of Rs 1.015 lakh crore, primarily as the liquid fund category saw heavy outflows during the month to the tune of Rs 74,176.55 crore.
In contrast to the previous month, all of the equity fund categories witnessed inflows, with small-cap funds lapping a net inflow of Rs 4,495.13 crore. In September, a few of the equity fund categories, including the likes of large-cap funds and the ELSS scheme, witnessed net outflows. So far in 2023, equity funds registered the third-highest monthly inflow in October.
Within the debt or income-oriented schemes, while most schemes registered inflows during the month, overnight funds, low-duration funds, medium-duration funds, credit risk, and banking and PSU fund categories logged outflows.
Following the continuous fund mobilisation in the investment avenue, mutual fund folios have increased from 15,70,96,187 as of September 30 to 15,96,46,790 as of October 31, 2023.
