All those people who prefer gold over other instruments as an investment option can invest in gold, he says. He however, suggests that investors must not invest a lump sum amount in it. The best way to invest in gold is through Systematic Investment Plan (SIPs). Buying gold in small quantities is a good option and will give returns on investments in the long run. What is a good option to get into gold? Gold ETFs are a good option for buying gold. People willing to invest in gold spots can opt for gold coins or gold bars. You can also take benefit of the gold monetisation scheme.
   
Jha explained that investors should have a diversified investment portfolio to achieve the set financial goals. It is important for investors to have 20-25% share as gold investment in their portfolios. Care should be taken to ensure it does not become too less or too much. Experts recommend this type of distribution in the portfolio to protect investors from major damage at a time when the markets are shaky.

Remember, even if other investments fail, gold can be a saviour for you in bad times, he added. In the financial crisis of 2008, when all other investments failed, gold still gave a 30% return to the investors.
