Malhotra asked Singhvi to guide her on various investment options available to an actor. Singhvi told Sanya to form a diversified portfolio with exposure to different asset classes. Here is the full advice from the market guru:

What Sanya Malhotra wanted:

''I don't really know much about investments and I usually consult my father to look into them. Though I have recently invested in a house in Mumbai and as investments are always beneficial and profitable, I need your guidance on where should I park my funds other than property."

What Anil Singhvi said:

Market Guru Singhvi told Malhotra to diversify her investment portfolio and look for various other options like equity, gold, mutual funds, debt funds, and fixed income assets to invest in.

''You should invest a major portion of your portfolio into equities. If you do not have much knowledge about stock markets, it's better to have a financial advisor who can design a better portfolio for you. You can park your money in mutual funds through SIP in case you want a regular income. So, if you have an irregular income, as actors mostly do, you should invest a lumpsum amount in mutual funds. You can also keep 5 to 10% of your portfolio in gold.''

Earlier, Singhvi also advised actress Sonakshi Sinha that if one buys a house, bungalow or flat for investment for the purpose of renting it, the rental income is only 2-3% of the investment made in the property. While investing the same money in any government fund, one can get a return of 8 per cent easily.

Also, there are fewer or no chances to have an increase in prices of property in the coming 5 to 6 years and one must invest in financial instruments like Mutual Funds with the help of a good broker.
