Good news! Anganwadi workers, helpers salary hike announced by Yogi Adityanath
Anganwadi Salary Hike: Yogi Adityanath-led UP government has given financial gift to anganwadi workers, mini anganwadis and helpers. The salary (honorarium) decision will benefit 3.75 lakh anganwadi and helper workers. Uttar Pradesh has 1,88,559 anganwadi centres. The decision was announced in Lucknow. The honorarium has been hiked by the UP government. Here are details:-
-Honorarium Salary of Anganwadis: Hiked by Rs 1500
-Honorarium Salary of Mini Anganwadis: Hiked by Rs 1250
-Honorarium Salary of Anganwadi Helpers: Hiked by Rs 750
According to Anganwadi worker and helper association's UP chief Gitanjali Maurya, currently workers, helpers were getting Rs 5500 and Rs 2250 per month as honorarium. "It is well-known that anganwadi workers and helpers do many additional works of government, hence keeping that in mind the given honorarium is very less," says anganwadi worker and helper association's UP chief Gitanjali Maurya. Anganwadi worker and helper association held a meet with CM, department officers on June 7, 2018. The consent of salary hike was given in the meet and it was scheduled to implement from 1 April 2018. Anganwadi workers, helpers are pressing for salary hike demand for very long. They have even protested and held demonstrations as well.
Yogi Adityanath government had recently earmarked Rs 25 crore for emoluments of Anganwadi workers in UP Budget.
Earlier on Sept 11, in good news for thousands of anganwadi workers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a hike in their monthly honorarium from October. "Those who drew an honorarium of Rs 3,000 will from now on get Rs 4,500 and those who used to get Rs 2,200 will get Rs 3,500," according to the announcement. The honorarium of Anganwadi helpers was hiked from Rs 1,500 to Rs 2,500.
Moreover, in the past, PM Modi had said that anganwadi workers are playing a critical role in strengthening the foundation of the country, ensuring health and wellbeing of the newborn, ensuring nutritional standards and maintaining cleanliness. PM Modi had also announced that Anganwadi workers and helpers using techniques such as common application software (ICDS-CAS) would get additional incentives. The incentives, ranging from Rs 250 to Rs 500, would be based on performance.
