LIC Policy: How to check plan and scheme status online

The Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India has good news for its policyholders. From now onward, a LIC policy holder doesn't need to visit the LIC branch to check the status of his or her LIC plan or schemes. They can now check the policy related details online. What they need is to visit the LIC official website licindia.in or ebiz.licindia.in. So, by logging-in to these two websites, one can easily fish out the policy details like maturity, the premium paid, policy status or statement of their existing  LIC policy. Here one can also check about the policy bonus information. For those, who don't have access to the internet or not much internet savvy, can use the SMS service incepted by the LIC of India.

The process to check LIC policy status online

To check the policy status, first, the policyholders need to do is to log on to licindia.in or ebiz.licindia.in. Then they need to fill their personal information like policy number, date of birth and register yourself with the LIC of India. Once you are registered with the LIC, you can always check your LIC policy status by opening your account that you have created with the LIC registration. 

Process to check LIC policy status, bonus via SMS

For those LIC policyholders, who are not that much internet savvy, the LIC of India has initiated SMS service that would help them know the status and other details of their policy. A policyholder has to send the message in the format LICHELP <Policy Number> on 9222492224. For availing this SMS service of the LIC of India, there is no charge required. This SMS service is completely free. You can send the SMS to 56677 and the details about your policy would be made available through reply SMS instantly. Similarly, to know the information about LIC premium you need to send the SMS in the format 'ASKLIC PREMIUM' at 56677. If your LIC policy has lapsed, one need to send SMS in the format 'ASKLIC REVIVAL' at 56677. To know about the LIC policy bonus, the LIC policyholder needs to send the SMS in the format 'ASKLIC BONUS' on the same number. Likewise, for asking the details about the information on loan against LIC policy or nominee, one need to send SMS in the format 'ASKLIC Loan' and 'ASKLIC NOM' respectively.

But, what about those, who don't even text messages but hold LIC policy? The LIC of India has thought of such policyholder too. Such policyholders can give a direct call on 022 6827 6827 keeping all policy related details, which the LIC office would ask after receiving your call.
