How to do PF balance check without UAN number: Follow these steps at epfindia.gov.in

PF Balance Check: Employees' Provident Fund or PF is an investment that helps in creating a retirement oriented corpus. One's PF or EPF is an investment fund scheme in which both employee and employer or government can contribute. There are various types of the provident fund like Recognized Provident Fund (RPF), Unrecognized Provident Fund (UPF), Public Provident Fund (PPF) or for that matter Employees Provident Fund. Whichever PF account you have, it is advisable for the PF account holder to be vigilant about PF balance as it's now easier to know one's through online PF balance check. If you have your UAN number, you can easily check your PF balance, however, if you don't have your UAN number, even then you can do your PF balance.

Speaking on the importance of knowing one's EPF balance, Jitendra Solanki, a SEBI registered tax and investment expert said, "If you know your Provident Fund Number or Universal Account Number (UAN), it will be easy to know your Employees PF balance amount. As long as you are a member of the EPFO (Employees’ Provident Fund Organization), you no longer need to wait for the end of the year for your employer to give you the annual Provident Fund statement. You can now easily check it from the comfort of your home." However, he also said that one can do the EPF balance check without the UAN number is possible. What you need is to log in at the EPFO's official website epfindia.gov.in.

Here is step by step guide to EPF balance check without UAN number:

1] Log in at EPF home page of epfindia.gov.in;

2] Press cursor at “Click Here to Know your EPF Balance”;

3] You will be redirected to epfoservices.in/epfo/;

4] Go at “Member Balance Information”;

5] Select your state;

6] Click at your EPFO office link;

7] Enter your PF Account Number (Mandatory), Name and registered Mobile Number;

8] Click on Submit Button;

9] Your PF balance will display on the computer monitor.

One can find one's EPF balance without UAN number by logging in at passbook.epfindia.gov.in as well.
