How to block SBI ATM? Here is how you can do through phone call, and even through SMS - Check procedure, helpline number

SBI ATM Blocking Procedure:Lost your SBI ATM card? Worried about its misuse? Don't panic! All you need to do is block your ATM first as soon as possible to avoid chances of fraud or unauthorized transactions. State Bank of India (SBI), the country's largest lender, is now offering customers the facility to block their SBI ATM card through SMS in case of theft loss or any other reason. To block the card the customer does not need user name and password.
In order to prevent unauthorized transactions, one can do any of the following things-
ATM card blocking
If you want to block your ATM, you just have to send an SMS from the registered mobile number as BLOCK Last four digits of the card number and send it to 567676. Once your request is placed, the customer will receive a confirmation SMS alert which has ticket number, date and the time of blocking the card.
ATM Card switch on or off usage
You can also deactivate and activate your transactions at the point of sale (PoS), ATM, international or domestic ones. To deactivate you need to SMS SWON/SWOFFATM/POS/ECOM/INTL/DOM last four digits of the card number and then send it to 09223966666 from your registered mobile number. After that, if you again wish to activate your account you have to message SWON POS **** to activate POS usage.
For example- SWON POS 4321 to activate your POS usage.
SWOFF INTL 3245 to deactivate your international usage.
Once the request is placed for activation or deactivation, you will get a confirmation SMS alert which will have reference number, date and time of the request.

Block SBI ATM card by phone call
Now SBI accountholders also have an option of calling up the customer care to register a complaint and block the card immediately on call. For this purpose, one can call up to the toll-free numbers 18004253800 or 1800112211 of SBI. This is the interactive voice response system (IVRS) where the account holder will be guided regarding the steps to block SBI ATM card.
