How Samsung users can access their Aadhaar, PAN card and driving licence on Samsung Wallet app
Samsung Wallet app allows users to keep documents such as Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, driving licence, and vehicle registration certificates at one place. Also, the application provides the extra option of keeping their Co-Win vaccination certificates on their device.
Carrying digital copies of Aadhaar card, Driving Licence, or other government documents is quite convenient than carrying hardcopies of these documents. Technology giant Samsung has come up with one such option, allowing all Galaxy smartphone users to now have access to their important IDs in digital format, which can be accessed at any place, any time.
Samsung has launched the Samsung Wallet app for Galaxy phones which allows users to store all their digital IDs at one place.
What is Samsung Wallet app?
The Samsung Wallet app allows users to keep documents such as Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, driving licence, and vehicle registration certificates at one place. Also, the application provides the extra option of keeping their Co-Win vaccination certificates on their device. Users need to first complete the verification process for certain documents and that particular document will appear on Samsung Wallet in digital format.
Samsung has merged its Samsung Pay and Samsung Pass app features with the new Samsung Wallet. The new app will serve as a payment platform as well as a wallet for storing digital IDs.
Samsung Galaxy users in India can use this application to make UPI payments while having access to all important documents at their fingertips. Also, users can recharge their FASTag account and store boarding passes as well as train tickets.
"With Samsung Wallet, we are offering consumers an entirely safe and secure environment for accessing their cards, IDs and documents, bringing a new level of everyday convenience to mobile devices. This also strengthens our commitment to being a strong partner of India with our vision of Powering Digital India,” said Reshma Virmani, Director, Services andEngagement, Samsung India.
According to the latest announcement by Samsung, its new wallet feature will be available with the Galaxy Watch series too.
Samsung mobile users can update their existing Samsung Pay service to Samsung Wallet on the Galaxy Store, a default application available on all Samsung devices.
Samsung Wallet app security and more features
To provide an extra layer of protection, Samsung has enabled a fingerprint or PIN unlocking system for the app. Also, all the data stored is encrypted, providing more security for the user.
The users can also discover deals, gift cards, promotions, and offers from thousands of local and national stores. The user can pay using Samsung Wallet without entering card details or registering a mobile number as all the details will be already stored in the app.
Like Digilocker, Samsung Wallet offers its users access to nearly 2,000 IDs and documents. Furthermore, using the SmartThings Find app, users can also disable and lock their device.
