Government pensioners need to get their Pramaan ID generated and thereafter they should log in at jeevanpramaan.gov.in to get a certificate every year.
Jeevan Pramaan Patra Online: In the month of November, every government pensioner becomes conscious about the need to submit his or her life certificate or Jeevan Pramaan Patra. In case they fail to submit this by 30th November — deadline for Jeevan Pramaan Patra 2019 — their pension would be discontinued by the pension disbursing agency!
One of the major requisites for the pensioners post their retirement from service, is to provide life certificates to the authorized pension disbursing agencies like banks, post offices etc., following which their pension is credited to their account. In order to get this life certificate, the individual drawing the pension is required to be personally present at the Pension Disbursing Agency or have the Life Certificate issued by an authority they have served earlier and have it delivered to the disbursing agency. This very requirement of personally being present in front of the disbursing agency or getting a life certificate often becomes a major hurdle in the process of seamless transfer of pension amount to the pensioner.

Digital Life Certificate for Pensioners Scheme of the Government of India known as Jeevan Pramaan Patra seeks to address this very problem by digitizing the whole process of securing the ID. It aims to streamline the process of getting this certificate and making it hassle-free and much easier for the pensioners. With this initiative, the pensioner's requirement to physically present himself or herself in front of the disbursing agency or the certification authority will become a thing of the past, bringing tremendous benefits, including cutting down of unnecessary logistical hurdles.
To obtain a digital life certificate, pensioners need to visit the nearest Citizen Service Center and get his or her Jeevan Pramaan Patra ID generated. For the generation of Pramaan ID at the Citizen Service Center, a pensioner has to submit one's Aadhaar Card number, PPO or pension payment order, mobile number and pension account number. After receiving these documents, the Citizen Service Center official will take the pensioner's biometric fingerprint for authentication. After the authentication, an SMS would be sent on the pensioner's mobile number which includes the Pramaan ID of the pensioner.
Once the Pramaan ID of the pensioner is generated, he or she need not visit the pension disbursing agency for submitting the life certificate. Jeevan Pramaan uses the Aadhaar platform for biometric authentication of the pensioner. A successful authentication generates the Digital Life Certificate which gets stored in the Life Certificate Repository. The Pension Disbursing Agencies can access the certificate on-line. Once, the Pramaan ID is generated, a pensioner can submit one's Life Certificate on its own by logging in at jeevanpramaan.gov.in — the official website of the Jeevan Pramaan Patra Department.
Here is step by step guide on how to get life certificate online:
1] Log in at jeevanpramaan.gov.in;
2] Click at 'Get a certificate';
3] Click at either of PC, Mobile or Offices; and
