Gold Price Today: On MCX, the Gold October futures were trading 0.42 per cent down at Rs 50,078 per 10 grams. The rupee depreciated by 11 paise to 79.93 against the US dollar in opening trade on Wednesday.
Gold Price Today: A decline in the yellow metal price is being seen on the third day of the week. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the Gold October futures were trading 0.42 per cent down at Rs 50,078 per 10 grams. Similarly, the Silver December futures were also trading in red. The metal was trading 0.47 per cent low at Rs 52,895 per kg on September 7 at 10:40 am.
Tracking the strength of the American currency overseas, the rupee depreciated by 11 paise to 79.93 against the US dollar in opening trade on Wednesday.
According to Anil Kumar Bhansali, Head of Treasury, Finrex Treasury Advisors, RBI keeps selling dollars to curb the rupee fall. "All eyes will be on the European Central Bank (ECB) meeting as a 75 basis points rate hike gets discussed to bring inflation down," Bhansali said.
On the domestic equity market front, the 30-share BSE Sensex was trading 312.13 points or 0.53 per cent lower at 58,884.86, while the broader NSE Nifty was down 102.00 points or 0.58 per cent to 17,553.60.
