Gold Price Today, December 13: Gold on Tuesday, December 13, showed strength as it advanced over 0.22 per cent on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). The precious metal was seen comfortably holding the five-month high level of Rs 54,000 on the second day of the week. It approximately increased by Rs 119 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on a firm spot demand.

Silver too maintained gains as it advanced over 0.53 per cent in today's afternoon session and breached the level of Rs 68,000. As participants widened their bets amid a firm spot demand, the metal increased by approximately Rs 350 in futures trade.

At 2:30 PM today, Gold February's future quoted Rs 54,251 per 10 grams, up by 0.22 per cent. Whereas Silver metal was trading at Rs 68,146 per kg, up by 0.53 per cent.

Fresh positions built up by participants led to the rise in gold prices, analysts said. Globally, gold was trading 0.31 per cent higher at USD 1,797.90 per ounce in New York, as per PTI report.

It should be noted that on Monday, December 5, the price of Gold on MCX topped Rs 54,000 which was the five-month high level.
