The IRCTC has recently tweeted from its official Twitter handle about the ways of selecting a new IRCTC account password. The tweet said, "Have you forgotten your #IRCTC account password? Reset or change your #IRCTC account password in these simple steps and book your train tickets now."

 

The IRCTC users must note that if they do not remember their password, they have to follow some simple steps. They are as follows:

Step 1: The users in the first place will have to login to the official website of IRCTC at irctc.co.in

Step 2: Now, they will have to click on the 'Forgot Password' tab on the homepage of IRCTC e-ticketing website

Step 3: Then the individual will have to enter one's IRCTC user ID, date of birth and captcha code and click on 'Next'

Step 4: The individual must note that the OTP will be shared on the registered e-mail ID and mobile number

Step 5: A new page will open on the IRCTC site where the user will have to enter the OTP, the new password and again re-enter the new password, enter the captcha and click on update password

Step 6: The new password will be updated successfully

An IRCTC users must also note that the person can change his or her IRCTC account password. In order to do so, one has to go to 'My Account' by logging in to the IRCTC website. Then one has to select the 'My Profile' option and click on 'Change Password'. A new page will open where the user will have to enter the new password after entering the old password and confirm the new one. Following which the user will have to click on 'Save'. The new password will be saved.

So, if an IRCTC user have forgotten the password or need to change it, can do so by following the above-mentioned steps by logging in to the official website of IRCTC at irctc.co.in.
