According to NHAI, those FASTags with valid balances but incomplete KYC will get deactivated by banks. Earlier, the deadline for the 'One Vehicle One FASTag' initiative and to complete the KYC was January 31 but it was extended till February 29.
Fastag KYC Last Date Update Online: What is FASTag?
FASTag is an electronic toll collection system implemented and operated by the NHAI. It uses Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology that helps vehicle owners make toll payments directly from the prepaid or savings account linked to it.
According to reports, FASTag has a penetration rate of around 98 per cent and is being used by over 8 crore users. FASTag, in a way, has revolutionised the electronic toll collection system in the country.

According to a report by PTI, NHAI is expected to extend the 'One Vehicle, One FASTag' initiative compliance deadline to March-end. The report, quoting a senior official, said that the decision could be taken considering the problems being faced by Paytm FASTag users.
"In view of the Patym crisis, the FASTAg users may be given more time to shift to one vehicle-one FASTag norm," the official was quoted as saying in the report.
Fastag KYC Last Date Update Online: What Paytm users need to do?
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has advised customers as well as merchants of Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) to shift their accounts to other banks by March 15.
The RBI also said withdrawal or utilisation of balances by PPBL customers from their accounts, including saving bank accounts, current accounts, prepaid instruments, FASTags, National Common Mobility Cards, will be permitted without any restrictions, up to their available balance even beyond March 15.

Here's a Step-by-step guide to update FASTag KYC online using the IHMCL (Indian Highways Management Company Limited) portal
Step 1: Visit the IHMCL customer portal or click on the link - https://ihmcl.co.in/
Step 2: Use your registered mobile number and password or OTP to log in.
Step 3: Visit "My Profile" section and select "KYC."
Step 4: Follow the instructions and submit the required documents. You will required to upload a passport-size photo and valid documents.
Update FASTag KYC online using your bank's website:
Step 1: Visit the official website of NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India) or click https://www.npci.org.in/what-we-do/netc-fastag/product-overview
Step 2: Select the bank which has issued you FASTag.
Step 3: Log in to your bank's FASTag portal and follow the instructions. SBI, ICICI, HDFC and Axis are some of the banks along with others that have issued FASTag.
Update FASTag KYC Offline:
Step 1: Visit the branch of the bank that has issued your FASTag
Step 2: Provide all the required documents and request KYC update for your FASTag account.

- Valid identity proof like - Passport, Driving Licence, Voter ID, PAN Card, Aadhaar Card, or NREGA job card.
- Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC) of the vehicle linked to the FASTag.
