If a person changes job or relocates, then he/she can transfer EPF money from the existing PF account to the new account. Earlier, people were afraid of doing this transfer due to manual paperwork and long waits, but now with the advent of technology, transferring an existing PF account to a new account has become more convenient than ever.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the process:

1. Activate Your UAN (Universal Account Number)
Before initiating the transfer process, ensure your UAN is activated. You can do this through the EPFO portal by providing details such as your PF number, establishment ID, and KYC documents.

2. Login to the EPFO Portal
Once your UAN is activated, log in to the EPFO member portal using your UAN and password. If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so on the portal itself.

3. Select Online Services
After logging in, navigate to the ‘Online Services’ section and click on ‘One Member - One EPF Account (Transfer Request).’

4. Verify Personal Details
Verify your personal details such as name, date of birth, and Aadhaar number displayed on the screen.

5. Enter Previous EPF Account Details
Enter the details of your previous EPF account, including the PF account number and the establishment ID. These details can usually be found on your salary slips or your EPF statement.

6. Authorize OTP
After entering the details, an OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP to authenticate the transfer request.

7. Initiate Transfer
Once authenticated, your transfer request will be initiated. The system will automatically verify your details with your previous employer and the EPFO.

8. Track Transfer Status
You can track the status of your transfer request through the ‘Track Claim Status’ option on the portal. The status will be updated as your request progresses through various stages.

9. Approval and Confirmation
Upon successful verification and approval by your previous employer and the EPFO, your EPF transfer will be completed. You will receive a confirmation message once the transfer is done.

10. Repeat if Necessary
If you have multiple previous EPF accounts, repeat the same process for each account to consolidate all your EPF savings into one account.
