CNG and PNG prices have been hiked once again in Delhi-NCR. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) on Thursday increased the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Delhi from Rs 2.5 per kg to Rs 71.61 per Kg and Pipe Natural Gas (PNG) by Rs 4.25 per standard cubic meter (SCM). The new rates will be effective from Thursday, April 14. CNG, PNG price hike is said to partially cover the hike in input gas cost.

After the price hike, CNG will cost Rs 71.61 per kg in Delhi, Rs 74.17 per kg in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad and Rs 79.94 per kg in Gurugram, said a notification from IGL.  

After increasing PNG price by Rs 4.25 per unit, PNG will cost Rs 45.86 per unit in Delhi and Rs 45.96 per unit in Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.

The revision in CNG prices will also see the Compressed Natural Gas costing Rs 82.07 per kg in Karnal and Kaithal. It will cost Rs 83.40 per kg in Kanpur, Hamirpur and Fatehpur, while retail customers will have to pay Rs 81.88 for one kg CNG in Ajmer, Pali and Rajsamand.  

"The new prices will be effective from April 14, 2022, onwards. The increment is done to partially cover the hike in input gas cost," said IGL in its statement.  

CNG, PNG Price Hike in Maharashtra 

Earlier, in the second increase in April, CNG and PNG prices hiked again in Mumbai too.  

Citing massive rise in input costs, the Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) hiked CNG price by Rs 5/kg to Rs 72 from Rs 67/kg and PNG rate by Rs 4.50/scm to Rs 45.50 from Rs 41.50/scm, effective Tuesday midnight (April 12).  

 It had earlier raised CNG and PNG prices by Rs 7 and Rs 5, respectively earlier on April 6.
