CNG Calculator: Attention vehicle owners! If you have a vehicle with CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) kit fitted into it, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) recommends use of CNG over petrol or diesel. The state-run company says that the CNG is an economical fuel on which your vehicles can run. The company also has a CNG calculator on its website that can help you to calculate the amount that you can save by using CNG as a fuel to run your car.

CNG Car Savings Calculator: Try out its CNG savings calculator for your car to know your daily, monthly or yearly savings when compared to other conventional fuels.

How to calculate your savings:

1) Visit the IGL website and click on the link ‘Latest CNG Saving Calculator’
2) When the CNG Calculator page opens on your screen ‘Select Your Car Model’ from the dropdown menu. You will find most of the car models in the drop down menu.
3) Now choose the type of car fuel Diesel or Petrol.
4) Select your location
5) Enter the current price of diesel or petrol.
6) Select the current mileage (Km/litre) of car.
7 Enter your average daily running in kms.
8) ‘Submit’ to know the savings

Example:

Suppose you have a Honda City car which is a diesel variant and you stay in Delhi. The diesel price in Delhi today is Rs 73.39 per litre and your car gives you a mileage of 20 km/litre. Your average daily travel is 30 kms. Enter these values in the CNG calculator to get the savings.

 As per the IGL CNG calculator, your daily savings on CNG will be Rs 47 while you can save Rs 1410 on a monthly basis. Your yearly savings on CNG will be Rs 16920.
