IRCTC Ticket Cancellation Policy: Those India Railways travellers who had booked their train tickets through the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website must not cancel their IRCTC ticket in the wake of Coronavirus lockdown. According to the latest Indian Railways advice, if you cancel your IRCTC ticket, then the portal will deduct the cancellation charges while after the scheduled date and time, your IRCTC ticket will automatically get cancelled and your money will be refunded into the source of payment gateway without any cancellation charge deduction.

IRCTC informed about the advice through its official twitter handle citing, "Doubts have been raised regarding cancellation of e-tickets subsequent to the cancellation of the passenger trains. It may be submitted that the trains cancelled by railway in its complete run, refund on e-ticket is full and automatic. In this case, no cancellation exercise is required to be done on the part of users. If the user cancels his e-ticket in the situation of train cancellation, there are chances he may get less refund. Hence, passengers are advised not to cancel e-tickets on their own for those trains that have been cancelled by the railways."

As per the IRCTC ticket cancellation policy, in the case of train ticket cancellation, there can be a deduction of money up to 50 per cent, depending upon the date of travel and the time of cancellation of the IRCT e-ticket. Hence, all those Indian Railways passengers who have booked IRCTC ticket online, need not cancel their train ticket in the wake of Coronavirus lockdown and Indian Railways cancelling its trains.
