How to become a crorepati is the most critical question on the lips of a majority of mutual fund investors. It has become an informal investment goal for them. However, along with this question is another - where to invest to get the best returns possible? Well, here is an option that this expert highlighted. Yes, investors want their money to grow geometrically after investing. In fact, SIP investment has become a kind of investment that helps create an ocean of wealth from little drops of water - so to speak. Some of the small-cap funds have done that. According to some tax and investment experts, small-cap SIPs have given smart returns if the investment has been done for a longer period. So, for those who have their investment goals for the long-term, SIP has become one of the favourite investment tools, especially in the small-cap mutual funds category, which does carry some risk. Doing an analysis of the SIP returns in the last five years, Mumbai-based tax and investment expert Balwant Jain found that SBI Direct Plan has given massive returns. So, if an investor invests for the long-term, around 25 years, his small per day savings can make him a crorepati!

Speaking on the SBI Direct Plan returns in the last five years Mumbai-based tax and investment expert Balwant Jain said, "The SBI Direct Plan has given 19.97 per cent returns while the SBI Small-cap has given 17.51 per cent returns in the last five years. So, based on the performance of the SBI Direct Plan if someone decides to invest for long-term means 25 years or above, they can easily meet their long-term goals, provided the fund we are talking continues to perform as it has performed in the last five years."
Assuming that this SBI Direct Plan performance over the last five years continues for next 25 years, as highlighted by Jain, Then surely, big profits can be booked. According to the SBI SIP calculator, an investor has to do a SIP of Rs 1,717 per month, which means Rs 57.23 (Rs 1717/30 = 57.233) a day for coming 25 years, and he or she could become a crorepati!
If someone wants Rs 5 crore as a maturity amount after 25 years, one needs to invest Rs 8,586 per month, which may be difficult for an earning individual who has just begun her or his professional career but someone who has spent more than 10 years and still has 25 years or service can think of accumulating huge retirement corpus through this SBI Direct Plan by investing Rs 8,586 per month or Rs 286.2 per day, the SBI Mutual Fund calculator reflects this.
