Bank Holidays in September: The banks will remain closed tomorrow on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The bank customers must note that from today banks will remain closed in certain cities due to several occasions for the next three days. The bank customers will not be able to withdraw and deposit money at the branches of the bank. However, the facilities of online banking will be available to them.

It must be noted that the banks will remain closed on September 8, 9, 10 and 11. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI)  grants holidays to the banks under three categories. They are Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act and Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.

It must be noted that yesterday, September 8, 2021, the banksl remained closed in Guwahati on the occasion of Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva. Again, the banks will remain closed today, September 9, 2021, in Gangtok on the occasion of Teej (Haritalika).

Again, the banks will remain closed on September 10, 2021, on the occasions of Ganesh Chaturthi/Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha)/Vinayakar Chathurthi/Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur and Panaji.

Also, the banks will remain closed on September 11, 2021, in Panaji due to Ganesh Chaturthi (2nd day). The banks will remain closed on Sunday, September 12, 2021.

The bank customers must also take a note of the fact that the banks will remain closed on 17th, 20th and 21st of this month. The banks will remain closed on September 17, 2021, due to Karma Puja in Ranchi. Again, the banks will remain closed on September 20, 2021, because of  Indrajatra in Gangtok. On September 21, the banks will remain closed on the occasion of Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

On the days when banks will be closed, the customers will not be able to withdraw and deposit money at the bank branches. However, ATMs, mobile banking will be available to them on these days.
