However, at the same time, it is also important to know on which dates banks will remain closed. This will allow you to plan important tasks in a better way. The Reserve Bank of India or RBI has released the list of bank holidays for 2019, informing customers about the days when the operations will remain closed.
The first bank holiday will be on Republic Day i.e. January 26, followed by Mahashivratri on February 21. Banks in different regions have different sets of holidays depending upon the state and what festivals are prominent in the region. For example banks in Assam are closed for Bihu while banks in Kerala don't open on Onam.
