Ayushmaan Bharat yojana registration: You may lose money, don't do this
People have been getting messages containing links asking them to register for the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana or Ayushmaan Bharat scheme.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana or Ayushmaan Bharat scheme is aimed at providing universal access to good quality health care services to the poor to ensure they do not have to face financial hardship while getting treatment. Under this scheme, the government provides health insurance cover of up to Rs 5,00,000 per family per year. Government gives the Ayushmaan yojana card to the beneficiaries by selecting them from its database based on the eligibility criteria. Notably, there aren't any means by which anyone can register for the scheme.
However, people have been getting messages containing links asking them to register for this healthcare scheme. This has forced NHA in a public advisory to say, "National Health Agency (NHA) has come to know that some unscrupulous individuals, agencies, websites, digital media channels, Mobile Apps, job portal websites and organizations are circulating fraudulent information in the form of emails, WhatsApp messages, registration portals, job updates, blog posts and video channels and web links claiming to register/enroll people as beneficiaries under AB NHPM/AB PMJAY, to issue/print Golden records/e cards for consideration or free, to provide recruitments as Arogya Mitra or some other service/benefit etc".
It also listed out 135 such websites and mobile apps which claims to enroll people for the scheme. NHA also listed as many as 59 websites and app which still are available. The NHA said that there may be more such apps and website.
These apps and websites seek users' personal information, offers to register under AB NHPM/AB PMJAYPMJAY scheme or charges money for enrollment into the scheme. These apps/websites aim to steal sensitive information like mobile number and account details on the pretext of getting enrolled for the scheme. You should be careful and should not click on any such link or download any such app. These may also contain malware and steal your confidential details.
How to be safe?
