Composition Taxpayers Have to File Return: The composition taxpayers must pay attention as there is an important piece of information for them. It must be noted that today, October 18, 2021, is the last date for filing the self-assessed tax for the July to September quarter 2021.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has tweeted from its official Twitter handle reminding the taxpayers about the last date for filing self-assessed tax today. The tweet said, "Attention Composition Taxpayers! File your details of payment of self-assessed tax payable for the quarter (July to September, 2021) in Form CMP-08 by October 18, 2021."
Now, as per the official website of CBIC, all taxpayers opting in for composition will file form GST CMP-08 quarterly and file GSTR-4 annually.
The taxpayers eligible for opting composite scheme are as follows:
1) The normal taxpayers having aggregate turnover (at PAN level) below Rs 1.5 Crore in the previous financial year, who doesn’t want to avail ITC facility
2) The normal taxpayers having aggregate turnover (at PAN level) below Rs 75 lakh in the previous financial year who are situated in following states - Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura and Uttarakhand
3) The normal taxpayers supplying services and/or mixed supplies having aggregate turnover of last financial year below Rs 50 lakhs
For filing the self-assessed tax for July to September 2021 quarter, one can login to the GST portal. In case of any query and further details, one can login to the official CBIC website at cbic.gov.in.
