e-Shram Portal Registrations: According to the recent data from the Ministry of Labour, as many as nine crore unorganised workers have been registered with the e-Shram portal. The e-Shram Portal was launched on August 26, 2021 and the government also provides e-Shram card to the workers. In case of any queries and details, the interested workers can login to the official website of e-Shram at eshram.gov.in.

9 crore registrations on e-Shram portal
Recently, the Ministry of Labour tweeted from its official Twitter handle about the nine crore registrations on the e-Shram portal. The tweet said, "India is moving towards another record. The day is not far when not a single unorganized worker will remain untouched by government schemes and facilities."
It has to be noted that the central government rolled out a national database for unorganised workers for the overall welfare of crores of these workers of the country.
How to register?
Those who have not yet registered on this portal can do so by following some simple steps. They are as follows:
Step 1: Login to the official website at eshram.gov.in
Step 2: Click on the 'Register on e-SHRAM' link which is present on the home page
Step 3: Enter the Aadhaar linked mobile number and captcha code and click on send OTP
Step 4: Follow the subsequent instructions to complete the registration process
It can be noted that if a worker does not have Aadhaar linked mobile number, he/ she can visit nearest CSC’s and register through Biometric authentication.
What are the benefits?
One must know about the various benefits of registration in this e-shram portal. After registering, the unorganized worker will get an Accidental Insurance cover of Rs 2 lakhs under PMSBY. In future, all the social security benefits of unorganized workers will be delivered through this portal. In emergency and national pandemic like situations, this database may be utilized to provide necessary assistance to the eligible unorganized workers.
What are the documents required?
Now, for self-enrolment, the documents required include Aadhaar number, Bank account details and Aadhaar linked mobile number. Again, if one wishes to get enrolled through CSC, the documents that will be required include Aadhaar number, Bank account details. It must be noted that the registration on CSC is free of cost.
