7th Pay Commission latest news: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited application for the post of Senior Research Officer. The job on offer falls under the 7th Pay Commission and the selected applicant would be eligible for Level-11 Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC recommendations accepted by the central government. The job offered is on a deputation basis, which is subject to absorption under applied terms and conditions. Interested and eligible officials can send their application in prescribed Performa along with copies of the APARs for the last five years (2013-14 to 2017-18) duly attested on each page by an officer not below the rank of an Under Secretary to the Government of India, cadre clearance and vigilance clearance through proper channel to the undersigned within sixty days from the date of advertisement of the vacancy in the Employment News dated 19-25 October 2019.

Officers under the Central or State Governments or Universities or recognised research institutions or public sector undertakings or statutory and autonomous organisation who hold analogous post on regular basis or with five years regular service in the posts in the pay scale of Rs 8,000 to Rs 13,500 (in Level-10 of the Pay Matrix in 7th Pay Commission) or equivalent or with eight years regular service in the post in the Pay Scale of Rs 6,500 to Rs 10,500 (in Level-7 of the Pay Matrix of the 7th CPC) or equivalent are eligible to apply for the post notified by the UPSC, provided they fulfill the other criteria like educational qualification, work experience etc.

Those officials who fulfill above-mentioned criteria should have Master's degree in an Indian language of a  recognised university with proficiency in Hindi or in another language, if the Masters degree is in Hindi; or master's degree in Arts or Science of a recognised university or equivalent in Hindi medium; and seven years experience in teaching at degree level at terminological or lexicographical or translation work including two years administrative experience or seven years experience in supervising terminological or lexicographical or translation work.

There are some desirable criteria as well. A research degree in Linguistics or Language or Literature, knowledge of Sanskrit and lexicography in modern Indian languages and experience of handling confidential work preferably in the field of the examination are the desirable qualifications that have been mentioned in the UPSC notification.
