7th Pay Commission latest news today - 7th CPC: Indian Railways employees have hit a jackpot ahead of Dussehra. Railways has announced 78 days Productivity Linked Bonus (PLB) for its employees. This bonus is for Financial Year (FY) 2019-20. It will increase salary of non gazetted railways employees by thousands of rupees. Railway ministry has already made announcement in this regard.
According to the order released on October 21, RPF/RPSF personnel will not be entitled for this bonus. As per the announcement, non-gazetted railways employees will get a bonus of Rs 17,951. Around 12 lakh non-gazetted employees are likely to benefit from this bonus.
Railways had given bonus to its employees last year too. Initially, Railways had planned to give a bonus for 75 days, however, it was increased to 78 days after heavy protest from different railways employees organisations. Apparently, Railways employees have been seeking bonus for at least 80 days.
What will be bonus amount?
Former Chairman of AG office Brotherhood Prayagraj, Harishankar Tiwari, said the government gives bonus to non gazetted officers during festival every year. Like previous years, the employees will get Rs 7,000 bonus this year too. This bonus is equivalent to 78 days salary.
Who will get bonus?
According to the government notification, those employees who were in the service till March 31, 2020, and were neither suspended nor left the service or retired during FY 2019-20 will be entitled for bonus.

These employees will get different bonus
It is to be learnt that the government gives Non-Productivity Linked Bonus (NPLB) to other employees. This is calculated on the basis of ceiling of Rs 1200 per month. This is calculated on the formula of 1200*40/30=1184.21. if the allowance is less than Rs 1200 per month, then bonus will be calculated on the basis of month. According to the government order, the expenditure incurred on this bonus will be borne by the railways department.
