7th pay commission latest news today: Now, CM Yogi Adityanath announces Diwali bonus for 14.82 lakh UP government employees

Uttar Pradesh government has decided to give massive Diwali bonus to its employees. In line with the central government and many other states, who have announced Diwali bonus for their employees, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced similar package for them. As many as 14,82,187 state government employees will be given bonus equivalent to their 30-day salary. It will cause a liability of ₹1,023 crore on the state exchequer. Â
75% amount will be transferred to PFÂ Â Â
It has been decided to grant a bonus of Rs 6,908 to each employee of the state government. The state government has decided to credit 75 per cent of this amount to General Provident Fund (GPF) account of the state employees, while 25 per cent or Rs 1,727 will be paid as cash.   Â
There were confusions regarding payment of Diwali bonus among employees of the state government due to uncertainty brought in by coronavirus. However, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s announcement has brought smiles back on the faces of these employees.  Â
Who will benefit Â
All non-gazetted employees of the state government, teachers of assisted colleges, teachers and staff of technical education institutes, employees of local bodies and daily wagers working for the government, will benefit from this decision taken by the Chief Minister.  Â

Those employees who are not PF members will be given national savings certificates of this amount. The employees who have retired after March 31, 2020, or due to retire by April 30 next year will receive full amount of eligible ad-hoc bonus, the spokesman added
