7th Pay Commission: This will not be the first time that some government employees or the other in Uttar Pradesh are at loggerheads with the state government over their demand citing 7th pay commission. Now, it is the turn of gazetted medical practitioners to make their demands. And what they are seeking is the immediate payment of non-practising allowance in accordance with the pay commission's recommendations.
According to reports, an association of gazetted medical practitioners in the state today demanded immediate payment of non-practising allowance in accordance with the recommendations of the 7th pay commission. The delegation of the Provincial Medical Services Association (PMSA), representing over 18,000 gazetted medical practitioners, today met Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Anup Chandra Pandey in Lucknow.
The PMSA delegation under the leadership of its president Dr Ashok Yadav, demanded immediate sanction for disbursement of non-practising allowance.
Issuing a statement later, the PMSA said that a letter mentioning service related matters of the government doctors and ways to strengthen medical facilities was also handed over to the chief secretary. According to the 7th pay commission recommendation, the non-practising allowance is a special kind of allowance for government doctors to be paid at the new rate of 20 per cent of their basic pay.
