7th Pay Commission latest news: PIB has busted the rumour that center is mulling to annule Satuday holiday and make 10 hour a day work schedule from morning 9 AM to evening 7 PM of the central government employees.
7th Pay Commission latest news: Taking cognizance of the fake news circulating in the various social platforms that Centre is mulling to increase central government employees' daily shift to 10 hours, the Press Information Bureau came forward and busted the rumours citing it is a rumour as the center has neither taken any such decision nor there is any pending proposal in this regard.
The PIB tweeted from its official PIB Fact Check twitter handle citing, "According to some social media and main stream media reports that claims that the center is going to change central government employees working schedule from morning 9 AM to Evening 7 PM is completely fake. The center has neither taken any such decision nor it has any such proposal to look at."

The PIB had to intervene in the fake news matter as the social media was abuzz with rumours that central government employees will now have to work in a new schedule of 10 hours and the new working time will be from morning 9 AM to evening 7 PM. The rumour also said that Centre will make five day week to six day week again as it is going to cancel Saturday holiday as well.

These reports on social media about central government employees started circulating after the Centre decided to delay the DA hike payment till June 2021 as they needed funds to continue fight against Coronavirus spread. Once this announcement was made in this regard, rumours started to circulate about Centre planning to cut other allowances of the central government employees as well.
