7th Pay Commission latest news: The central government's dearness allowance (DA) hike announcement has led several departments to follow suit and implement the same for their employees too. Indian Railways as well as India Post departments have today issued orders to increase DA of their employees by as much as 5% to 17%. Reports coming in say that all departments as well as states will be able to extend the DA gift to their employees before the festival of Diwali, which is on Sunday, October 27.

Accordingly, the postal department has issued an order in this regard, after taking the approval from the Finance Ministry - the copy of the same is in possession of 'Zee Business'. The Department of Posts has sent the copy of the order to all the Chief Post-master General, Chief General Manager, Director RAKNPA (Rafi Ahmed Kidwai National Postal Academy), Army Postal Service and all General Managers. Now, preparations are on to give the dearness allowance to these employees before Diwali in all the offices.

Further, the reports also say that the government is making effort to give this month's salary with DA to its employees before Diwali, which is falling on October 27, so that they celebrate the festival to the hilt. So, they should check their banks for salaries as they may come early.

Similarly, the state government of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh too are making efforts to extend salary to their employees before Diwali. The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has also decided to give a bonus of Rs 7000 to non-gazetted group C and group D employees.
