7th pay commission latest news: After J&K and Ladakh, Government has given approval to Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, the civic body of Pune, to implement 7th Pay commission for its employees. Around 8,000-9000 people are employed by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation and are expected to benefit from the latest move of the government.

A report by TOI quoted NCP Pimpri MLA Anna Bansode as saying that the government has issued Grade pay for the implementation. According to the terms and conditions set in Grade Pay,  the city body should keep the administrative expenditure at less than 35 per cent while increasing its revenues. They also have to keep a check that there should be sufficient funds for development work, repaying loans and interest.

Bhonsle believes that the implementation of 7th CPC in the city will lead to a total expenditure of about Rs 90 crore. 

Earlier this year, government has given the good news to employees of Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh by approving the 7th Pay Commission benefits for them. Home Minister Amit Shah had approved the proposal of all 7th CPC allowances payments to the employees of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, which came into existence from October 31, 2019. 

This move will benefit about 4.5 lakh government employees of these Union Territories. The employees who are working in the existing state of Jammu & Kashmir and will become the employees of UTs of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh from the mentioned date. 

The Central Government has recently cleared confusion in regard to the salary increment rules in 7th CPC for the central government employees who have got a promotion. The Central Government has said that if a central government employee gets a promotion from 2nd January to 30th June, he or she will get a salary increment from 1st January in the next year.
