7th Pay Commission latest jobs: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued notification for the direct recruitment of Examiner of Trade Marks & Geographical Indications.
7th Pay Commission latest jobs: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued notification for the direct recruitment of Examiner of Trade Marks & Geographical Indications. The total number of vacancies is 65 (UR:28, EWS: 6, OBC: 17, SC: 9, ST: 5, PH:4) and the selected candidates will be posted at the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion that falls under the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks. The UPSC notification says that the post offered will have the Pay Scale of Level 07 (Rs 44,900 to 1,42,400) in the pay matrix of 7th CPC. Total emoluments (excluding HRA & TA) at the time of the initial appointment will be Rs 44,900 DA as applicable per month approximately. Essential Qualifications
The interested candidate who wishes to apply for the post should have a Degree in Law from a recognized University. He or she should have two years’ experience in handling court cases and other legal matters or in handling matters of Trade Marks or Geographical Indications. However, a candidate having a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property from a Recognized university will be the desired quality that UPSC will look forward to while shortlisting the candidates.

Duties
Under the superintendence and direction of the Registrar, the Examiner of Trade Marks and Geographical Indications examines the application for registration of Trade Marks as per the provision of Trade Marks Act,1999 and Rules framed thereunder. The Examiner of Trade Marks and Geographical Indications can be assigned any other work related to the subject by the Registrar.
Age
Not exceeding 30 years for General category candidates as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 30 years for EWS candidates, not exceeding 35 years for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates and not exceeding 33 years for Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates as on normal closing date in respect of the vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central Government Servant up to five years as per instructions/orders issued by Govt. of India from time to time.
