7th Pay Commission Latest News Today: Since the DA hike will come into effect from July 1, 2018, these government employees will be getting four months arrears as well.
7th pay Commission: After this latest announcement by this government now, it is clear that it is raining money for government employees ahead of Diwali. First, Uttar Pradesh government announced a bonus and dearness allowance (DA) hike for the state employees, the Odisha government has announced a hike in DA by 2 per cent for the employees of the state-run PSUs. The DA has been hiked to 9 per cent from 7 per cent earlier.
Since the DA hike will come into effect from July 1, 2018, these government employees will be getting four months arrears as well. Earlier, the Naveen Patnaik government had hiked the DA of other state government employees (last month). Now, all the state government employees including teachers will get the DA at the rate of 9 per cent.
The state governments have been hiking DA in line with the Centre's DA hike decision that was announced in August. Since then, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, and Gujarat and some more states have hiked the DA of their respective state government employees to 9 per cent.

At the Centre, while they have received the DA hike in August, central government employees, continue to wait for the over and above 7th pay commission report hike as per their demands, which is not happening despite the fact that the issue has been pending for years. Central government employees are getting the benefits of the 7th CPC and salary as per the fitment factor of 2.57 times. The current minimum salary is Rs 18,000. However, the central staff wants a hike as per the fitment factor of 3.68 times which will set the minimum salary at Rs 26,000.
