Income Tax Return E-Filing ALERT! Planning to file ITR Today? Can't be done on THESE dates - Here is why

Are you planning to file Income Tax Return today or this week? Then here is a new alert for you! Income Tax India has issued an alert for taxpayers notifying that e-filing portal services of the IT-Department will be closed for six days in June.  

According to Income Tax India, taxpayers, who are looking to file their return in June, will now have to perform this task after June 7. The e-filing portal services will be shut down between 1st and 6th June, informed the IT department on Twitter.

Similarly, after June 6, the taxpayers can avail of e-filing service or submit their responses on the Income Tax department's new site www.incometax.gov.in. The department is launching its new e-filing portal on June 7, 2021. The new taxpayer-friendly portal integrated with immediate processing of Income Tax Returns to issue quick refunds to taxpayers. Taxpayers will be able to see all interactions and uploads or pending actions on a single dashboard for follow-up action. 

The department has also notified that to avoid any inconvenience to taxpayers, it will not fix any compliance dates between July 1-6 period. Further, directions have been issued to fix the hearing of cases or compliances only from June 10, 2021, onwards, to give taxpayers time to respond to the new system.
