EPFO members alert! Want to change mobile number in EPF passbook online; do this at epfindia.gov.in

EPFO or Employees' Provident Fund Organisation has introduced the Universal Account Number (UAN) for all EPFO members. This UAN is a 12-digit number that each EPF passbook or EPF account holder is allotted. This UAN remains constant throughout an employees’ professional life. In case the employee changes job, he or she is allotted a new member ID under EPF, however, UAN remains the same.

Once an EPFO subscriber's mobile number is registered with its UAN, all SMS communication by the EPFO will be carried out through this number. It is mandatory for new EPFO members to register their mobile number when signing up for the first time with the EPFO portal — epfindia.gov.in. It is also very easy to change mobile number in an EPF account by visiting the UAN member portal — unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/ or EPFO official website epfindia.gov.in.

Here is how to change your mobile number in EPF UAN online:

1] Log in at the official website UAN Member e-Sewa — unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/;
2] lick at “UAN Member e-Sewa” link and it will lead you to a new window;
3] Now fill in your UAN and your Password in order to log in yourself;
4] After you successfully logged into the UAN member portal, under the menu section you’ll see a button named “Manage”, Click on that link;
5] A drop-down menu will now appear containing two different sections from which you have to select the first one, named “CONTACT DETAILS”;
6] Now in the main section where you have to Update / Correct / Change your Mobile Number. Click on the CheckBox right before the text “Change Mobile No”;
7] Then two more fields will appear where you have to fill in your New / Updated Mobile Number. Then, hit the “Get Authorization Pin” button;
8] You will be then redirected to a new page and you will receive an OTP on your New Mobile Number that you just entered;
9] Enter the received OTP and click at the “Save Changes” button; and
10] A message will then appear on your screen. “Contact details updated successfully.”
