RBI announces Rs 2,10,874 crore dividend to government exchequer
Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday announced a dividend of Rs 2,10,874 crore to the government exchequer.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday (May 22, 2024) announced a dividend of Rs 2,10,874 crore to the government exchequer.
This amount will be counted in the government accounts in FY25.
A dividend of Rs 87,416 crore was given in FY22-23.
A contingent risk buffer was also kept at 6.50 per cent in FY24.
Contingent risk buffer was 6.0 per cent in FY23.
While the risk buffer in FY19 to FY22 was 5.50 per cent.
The RBI earned more from forex, foreign securities, and bonds.
A dividend of Rs 1.04 lakh crore was expected from the RBI and others.
