Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartik Purnima, Bank Holiday Today: The central bank places the holidays under three categories- Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act; Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday; and Banks Closing of Accounts.
Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartik Purnima, Bank Holiday Today: Today is Guru Nanak Jayanti and Kartik Purnima. On this occasion, several institutions including government and private offices observe holiday. Likewise, private and government banks will remain shut today on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartika Purnima, Rahas Purnima. Although the bank holiday is state-specific, most of the states will observe holiday today.
According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI)'s holiday calendar website, banks will remain closed on November 8 in these cities-- Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla and Srinagar.
Banks will, however, remain open on Guru Nanak Jayanti in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Gangtok, Guwahati, Imphal, Kochi, Panaji, Patna, Shilong and Thiruvananthapuram.

November 11: On the occasion of the "Kanakadasa Jayanthi/Wangala Festival", banks will remain closed in some circles on November 11. Bengaluru and Shillong are the circles where banks will not operate on this day.
Bank Holidays in November 2022: Banks to remain closed for 10 days this month
November 23: Banks in Shillong will remain closed on the occasion of "Seng Kutsnem" on November 23 as per the RBI Bank Holiday list.
Overall, banks will remain closed for 10 days this month. Out of these, four are holidays while others are Saturdays and Sundays. Earlier in October, banks were closed for 21 days.
