Bank holidays in March 2024: Two long weekends ahead in these states on Mahashivratri, Holi

Bank Holidays in March 2024: Public and private banks will remain shut for 14 days in March 2024, including all Sundays, second and fourth Saturdays, public holidays, and regional holidays, as per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday list. In addition, one must note that many states will observe three days of consecutive bank holidays, i.e., long weekends twice.

Long weekends in 2024 March: Mahashivratri

Banks are shut on March 8 on account of Mahashivratri, followed by a second Saturday and Sunday.

The holiday will be observed in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad (AP and Telangana), Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Holi Long Weekend 2024

Banks will remain closed on March 25, Monday, on the occasion of Holi/Dhuleti/Dol Jatra/Dhulandi after the holiday on the fourth Saturday and Sunday.

The holiday will be observed in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Dehradun,  Gangtok, Guwahati, Hyderabad (AP and Telangana), Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, and Shimla.
