Regional holidays vary by state, and in addition to national holidays, these closures can impact banking operations. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) sets all bank holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) holidays, and bank account closure restrictions.

According to the RBI’s recently released list, banks will observe a total of 8 non-working days in February 2025. This includes regional and state-specific holidays declared by various state governments, as well as statutory closures on the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays of each month.
