Bank holiday today: According to the Reserve Bank of India's holiday calendar 2024, branches of most commercial banks—public as well as private—will remain shut today, June 17 on the account of Bakra Eid also known as Eid al-Adha.

However, one must note that bank-related work can still be done through mobile or net banking.
When will EMI be deducted if due date was a holiday?
On availing the auto debit facility, according to the ICICI Bank's official website, "In case the Payment Due Date is not a Business Day, the bank account shall be debited on the next Business Day. In the event if the bank account does not have sufficient funds on the Payment Due Date, the Borrower(s) shall be liable to pay all the charges applicable in addition to the EMI as generated in the next month’s account statement. ICICI Bank shall not be liable if the auto debit transaction is delayed or not effected at all for reasons of incomplete or incorrect information or for any other reason."
Are Bank closed today?
Banks are closed in Agartala, Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad - Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad - Telangana, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram.
Long weekend in June 2024
Notably, banks in Jammu and Srinagar will observe an extended break. Banks will remain closed on June 16 (Sunday), June 17 and June 18 (Bakrid), making it a three-day closure.
The 11-day holiday in June includes national and regional holidays as well as Sundays, 2nd and 4th Saturdays.

- Holiday under Negotiable Instruments Act
