Bank holiday on January 22, 2024, bank half day on January 22, 2024: According to the RBI holiday calendar, private as well as public banks in Imphal, Kanpur, Lucknow and Panaji will remain closed on Monday, January 22, on account of the consecration ceremony of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, and Imoinu Iratpa in Imphal, Manipur. These are holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act. 

Banks to assume half working day on January 22, 2024

According to an order issued by the Finance Ministry on January 18, public sector banks (PSBs) and regional rural banks will observe a half-day off on Monday for the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.

"The DoPT's order in respect of Central Institutions and Central Industrial Establishments shall also apply to all Public Sector Banks/ Public Sector Insurance Companies/ Public Sector Financial Institutions and Regional Rural Banks to enable employees to participate in the Ram Lalla 'Pran Pratishtha' celebrations."

Bank holidays 2024 in January 2024 this week

Banks will remain closed in Imphal, Manipur on January 22 for Imoinu Iratpa. There will be a bank holiday in the state the next day, January 23.

Banks will remain closed on January 25 in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu on account of the birthday of Mohammad Hazrat Ali.

Republic Day bank holiday

Banks across the country will remain closed on January 26 for Republic Day.

There will be a holiday in all banks on January 27, the fourth Saturday of the month.
