At the close, Sensex ended over 1 per cent higher at 82,133, while the Nifty index gained 0.89 per cent and settled at 24,768.3 Sectorally, the FMCG pack outperformed after food inflation eased during the November month.  Additionally, expectation of an increase in US spending is propelling the IT sector.
