At the close, the 30-share BSE Sensex rose 131.18 points or 0.17 per cent to settle at 77,341.08, while the NSE Nifty gained 36.75 points or 0.16 per cent to close at 23,537.85. Meanwhile, broader markets continued with their upmove, and outperformed their headline peers.
