D-Street Newsmakers: Bharti Airtel, GAIL, MGL among stocks that hogged limelight today
Indian equities after notching fresh peaks in early trade retreated lower amid weakness in the IT and metal stocks. At the close, Nifty fell 152.7 points from the new all-time high of 23411.9 scaled during the session and settled at 23259.2, while Sensex was dragged nearly 589 points from the new peak of 77079.04 to 76490.08 level. Meanwhile, broader markets outperformed their headline indices, with the Nifty Smallcap 100 ending 1.5 per cent higher.

Bharti Airtel
Shares of the telco major ended flat with a negative bias at Rs after CLSA maintained its ‘buy’ call on the counter post its entry into the elite club of Indian companies exceeding $100 billion in m-cap.
Mahanagar Gas
Shares of the city gas distribution player ended over 2 per cent higher at Rs 1410.10 as the company retained its FY25 volume guidance of 6-7 per cent on-year growth.
Coforge
Shares of the company ended 4 per cent lower at Rs 5,219 amid broad based sell-off in the IT pack.
GAIL (India)
Shares of the PSU ended over 2 per cent lower at Rs 208.05 after the company announced its intent to set up ethane cracker project with an investment of Rs 60,000 crore in Madhya Pradesh.
Thermax
Thermax shares ended 1 per cent lower at Rs 5175.50 after Nalanda India Equity Fund on Friday sold 15 lakh shares in the counter at an average price of Rs 5,100.26, while SBI Mutual Fund bought 13,74,359 shares in the entity at an average price of Rs 5100.
The company's stock ended over 1 per cent higher at Rs 1,278.1 after its board approved fund raising worth Rs 300 crore by issuing NCDs.
Bajaj Finance
Shares of the NBFC ended with a cut of over 1 per cent at Rs 7,088.85 after the company's subsidiary Bajaj Housing Finance filed the DRHP for Rs 7,000 crore IPO. The offer will comprise a fresh equity issuance of Rs 4,000 crore and an OFS of Rs 3,000 crore.
