According to Zee Business research, it is expected that the Indian economy will get a boost of Rs 13,500 crore from direct and indirect spending during the ICC World Cup 2023.

Further, the research suggests that food outlets and delivery applications will get a double boost with the World Cup and the festival season around the corner. The research says that an estimated growth of 6 per cent to 8 per cent is expected in QSR and food delivery apps during the Cricket World Cup.

Quick Service Restaurants (QSR) companies like Jubilant FoodWorks, which operates Domino's Pizza in India, and food delivery apps like Swiggy and Zomato could benefit from the World Cup as food delivery during the cricket mega event is expected to increase.

Growth estimation is done by looking back at the historical data of Jubilant Foodworks, where the company's same-store sales (SSG) grew 6.6 per cent during the 2015 World Cup against its annual SSG, which was negative by 4.5 per cent.
