Vodafone Idea shares rise after telecom operator reports improved ARPU, increased losses
In the results announced on Thursday, Vodafone Idea reported an increase in its quarterly losses to Rs 8,737.9 crore from Rs 7595.5 crore in the same quarter a year ago. The average revenue per user (ARPU), a key growth matrix of telecom operators, jumped 2.1 per cent to Rs 142 in the September 2023 quarter from Rs 139 Year-on-Year.
Vodafone Idea Share Price: Shares of Vodafone Idea were rising higher on BSE on Friday (October 27) in the first trading session after the company posted mixed second-quarter results. The stock was up by 1.40 per cent, or Rs 0.15, at Rs 10.88, at 9:39 am on Friday after the company reported an improved ARPU and increased losses in its second-quarter results.

The telecom company's shares have not been performing well on bourses for some time.
Their fall on BSE in the last five trading session has been 9.18 per cent, while they have slumped 9.41 per cent in the last one month.
It has underperformed the benchmark Nifty 50, which has declined 2.84 per cent in the last five trading sessions while 3.53 in the last one month.

In the results on Thursday, Vodafone reported an increase in its quarterly losses to Rs 8,737.9 crore from Rs 7,595.5 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
The average revenue per user (ARPU), a key growth matrix of telecom operators, jumped 2.1 per cent to Rs 142 in the September 2023 quarter from Rs 139 Year-on-Year.
The company also said that it had made a provisioning of Rs 822 crore for tax liability arising out of a Supreme Court judgement on October 16 to treat revenue share licence fee as capital expense.
While Vodafone's losses in the six months to September 30 have swelled to Rs Rs 16,566.7 crore, its net worth at the end of the quarter under review stands at negative Rs 90,411.1 crore.
