Stocks to watch: At around 8:00 a.m. on Friday, October 6, the GIFT Nifty futures traded 43.5 points, or 0.22 per cent, lower at 19,608.5, suggesting a flat-to-positive start to trading on Dalal Street.

Sensex and Nifty rebounded sharply on Thursday after sliding for the past two sessions, propelled by bargain hunting in capital goods, banking, and IT stocks. The recovery in global oil prices, too, aided sentiment.

The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 405.53 points, or 0.62 per cent, to settle at 65,631.57. During the day, it rallied 527.16 points, or 0.80 per cent, to 65,753.20. Nifty advanced 109.65 points, or 0.56 per cent, to end at 19,545.75.

All eyes will be on the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) monetary policy decision, which will be announced at 10 a.m.

Tata Communications: The Tata Group company announced on Thursday that its acquisition of Kaleyra Inc., a New York Stock Exchange-listed company, has been completed.

As a result, Kaleyra Inc. has become a direct subsidiary of TC India pursuant to the reverse merger between TC Delaware Technologies Inc (a direct subsidiary of TC India) and Kaleyra Inc. wherein Kaleyra Inc is the surviving entity, Tata Communications said in a statement on Thursday. 

Vedanta Ltd: Vedanta said on Thursday that CRISIL Ratings, vide release dated October 4, 2023, has placed its ratings on the company's long-term bank facilities and debt instruments on ‘rating watch with negative implications’ while reaffirming the ratings on the short-term debt instruments. 

Tata Motors: Tata Motors subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) on Tuesday reported increased sales volumes for the second quarter of FY24 (a three-month period to September 30, 2023).

In a BSE filing on Thursday, Tata Motors said that wholesale volumes in the period were 96,817 units (excluding the Chery Jaguar Land Rover China JV), up 29 per cent compared to the same quarter a year ago.

The luxury car's wholesale volumes for the first half of the financial year were 190,070, up 29 per cent compared to the prior year.

Tata Steel: Tata Steel unit TCIL said it received an order from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Jamshedpur Circle, on Thursday, asking for a penalty of approximately Rs 3,986.78 lakhs in connection with an earlier demand order from Dy. Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Jamshedpur, pertaining to FY 2016-17.

The said demand order is presently pending appeal before the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Ranchi, Tata Steel said in a statement on Thursday. 

Godrej Consumers: In its quarterly consumer report, Godrej said its overall home care volumes grew in the mid-single digits while personal care grew in the low-single digits.

The performance of Park Avenue and KamaSutra brands has improved sequentially and are on track to achieve full-year guidance, the company said in its statement on Thursday.

Lupin: The pharma company said on Thursday that it had received tentative U.S. FDA approval for its abbreviated new drug application Tolvaptan Tablets, 15 mg, 30 mg, 45 mg, 60 mg, and 90 mg to market a generic equivalent of Jynarque® Tablets, 15 mg, 30 mg, 45 mg, 60 mg, and 90 mg, of Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. 

Havells India: Havells India said on Thursday that CARE has reaffirmed the ratings of its facilities and instruments.

The rating agency has reaffirmed the CARE AAA (Triple A) rating of Havells' long-term bank facilities; reaffirmed the CARE A1+ (A One Plus) rating of its long-term bank facilities; and also reaffirmed the CARE A1 rating of its commercial paper.

Rate-sensitive stocks: Ahead of the RBI's policy decision, banking, financial services, non-banking financial services, consumer durables, and realty will be in focus.

Kalyan Jewellers: Q2 consolidated revenue growth is up 27 per cent.

Utkarsh Small Finance Bank: The company said in its Q2 business update that its gross loan was up 26.4 per cent year-on-year (YoY) and total deposit was up 19 per cent YoY. Current Account Savings Account (CASA) ratio increased from 19.5 per cent to 19.9 per cent ​​quarter-on-quarter (QoQ).

PB Fintech: SoftBank is likely to sell a 2.54 per cent stake through a block deal which translates to 1.14 crore shares at Rs 752-767. Deals can be made at 0-2 per cent discount.

Bajaj Finance: The board approved raising Rs 10,000 crore, of which Rs 8,800 crore will be raised through qualified institutional placement (QIP) and Rs 1200 through warrants.

Som Distilleries & Breweries: The company launched its QIP with a floor price of Rs 349.24, which is an 8.5 per cent to the current market price of Rs 381.5 apiece.

Laxmi Organics: The company launched its QIP with a floor price of 283.27, a premium of 1.6 per cent to the current market price of Rs 278.8. 

Interglobe Aviation: Fuel surcharge implemented for domestic and international flights. From October 6, fuel charges will be Rs 300 to Rs 1,000 depending on the distance.

Metal stocks: Macquarie upgraded its rating on JSPL to 'Outperform' and raised the target to Rs 808 apiece. The brokerage also raised targets for JSW Steel, Tata Steel, Coal India, and Hindalco.  

PNB Glits: The board approved taking membership in corporate bodies for forex trading. On July 19, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) authorised the company as an ‘Authorised Dealer—Category III” for Forex Business. 

Valiant Laboratories: Shares of the company will be listed on the NSE and BSE today. 

Suzlon Energy: The company shifted to Additional Surveillance Measure (ASM) Stage IV.

Edelweiss Financial Services: shortlisted in short-term ASM. 

SBI: Chairman Dinesh Khara's tenure was extended until August 2024. Dinesh Khara's tenure was ending on October 7. Managing Director Ashwini Tiwari's tenure was also extended by two years.

Akzo Nobel India: The company received a show cause demand notice of Rs 69.41 crore from the Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Karnataka GST departments.
