Mining major Vedanta has informed exchanges that its board of directors has approved the second interim dividend of Rs 4 per share with a face value of Re 1 for the Financial Year 2024-25. The total payout will amount to Rs 1,564 crore.

"The Board of Directors of Vedanta Limited (the “Company”), at its meeting held today i.e. Friday, July 26, 2024, has considered and approved the Second Interim Dividend of ₹ 4/- per equity share on face value of ₹ 1/- per equity share for the Financial Year 2024-25," the company said in an exchange filing. 

Vedanta Dividend 2024 Record Date

Vedanta has also fixed the record date for this corporate action. According to the company, August 3 has been fixed as the record date. A record date is important as it helps the company to identify the shareholders eligible for the corporate action. 

"As intimated earlier, the record date for the purpose of payment of dividend shall be Saturday, August 03, 2024, and the interim dividend shall be duly paid within the stipulated timelines as prescribed under law," the filing reads.

Meanwhile, shares of Vedanta ended the session at Rs 444.70 with a gain of 2.98 per cent from the previous close of Rs 431.85 on the BSE. Earlier, the scrip opened at Rs 438.75 and hit a high of Rs 448 and a low of Rs 434.60 during the day.
